Minor — Cups
Knight of Cups
A female rider advances at a walk, slowly, the cup raised like a reliquary. Winged helmet, armour adorned with fish, dappled white horse — and around her, a desert crossed by a river. The Knight of Cups is the messenger of the heart: carrying an emotion without spilling it.
Symbolic reading
This rider conquers nothing: her movement is slow, peaceful — the only conquest of Cups is that of right measure. The cup held high like a reliquary speaks of care: some messages must be carried with both hands. The winged helmet bridges water and air — emotion becoming speech, feeling learning to travel. The fish engraved on the armour overturn the very idea of protection: she does not defend herself against her emotions, she wears them as her heraldry. The landscape measures how far the path has come: water no longer overwhelms everything as it did in the numerals — in this desert, it has become a river to follow, precious because it is rare. And the Book travels at the saddle: knowledge accompanies her mission.
Reversed reading
The message becomes troubled: a promise not kept, sentimentality drowning speech, an ideal pursued while losing sight of the river — or the cup finally delivered to the one who was waiting for it.
