Minor — Wands
Queen of Wands
On a living vegetal throne — intertwined vines, lion heads, grapevines and bunches of grapes — the Queen of Wands holds the open Book on her lap, one finger resting on the page, and her sceptre is green like sap. She is creative mastery: “I understand and I create.”
Symbolic reading
With the Queen, the Book opens — that is her function, in this suit as in every other: the Queen is the one through whom the Book can open. What the Page carried with its light extinguished and the Knight carried closed, she reads, and her finger resting on the page signifies an active reading, ongoing, never complete. Her throne is not furniture: it grows — the sovereignty of Fire, in her, is a living thing that continues to grow. The green sceptre states the same truth: her power is that of sap, the force that brings forth. On her golden robe, the salamander has grown and spread out — the spirit of Fire, mastered, made fertile. The Queen does not burn: she ripens.
Reversed reading
Creation tightens into rigidity: authority that regulates instead of helping things grow, generosity exhausted by constant giving — or the open Book no longer being read, the finger frozen on the same page.
