THE FOUR FAMILIES

The Suits

Masters hand down the Grimoire, but it is within oneself that one discovers the Book.

Wands

Fire & Transmission

The Wands suit draws you into the heart of Fire, the creative drive through which will shapes the world and takes form in the work of the land. Crossing the sunlit landscapes of a medieval wine estate, this story traces the epic of a knowledge that is not passively received but won through trials and perseverance. From the first fire of the forge to the return of the matured heir to the family promontory, you will discover the transmission between a father and his son through the seasons and the storms. Here, the Grimoire is a living torch passed from hand to hand, feeding the desire to undertake and to build. Let yourself be guided by this family of action, where every card invites you to turn daily effort into a shared sovereignty.

The story

Weathering the storm to learn to carry what the father built: an epic of will, work and time.

The court

If the Page thinks he knows and the King is what he knows, it is because, between the Knight's drive and the Queen's maturity, the Book has finally become flesh.

Cups

Water & Revelation

With the Cups, you plunge into the realm of Water, the element of receptivity, feeling and inwardness. This suit traces the initiatory tale of a single heroine who learns to dissolve the ego and open her heart to the truths of the soul. From the young novice discovering the Grimoire beside clear water to the moving encounter with her white-haired future Self, each stage is an invitation to pass through one's shadows and bring forth the light. Far from fleeting passions, Water teaches that true knowledge is not wrested from the world but received in the silence of listening. Explore this family of revelation to discover how sensitivity becomes the key to a deeply shared wisdom.

The story

The Cups do not tell of mere passion: they show how Water dissolves the ego to turn revelation into shared knowledge.

The court

The same fish swims from cup to cup up to the King, who no longer needs to hold the Book: he is what it contains.

Swords

Air & Discernment

The Swords suit lifts you into the realm of Air, where thought seeks clarity and defies the fog of the mind. You will follow the pilgrimage of a red-haired young man and his psychopomp magpie, travelling through steep landscapes in search of the Book and of truth. Through doubts, wounds and nights of anguish, this initiatory arc shows how the mind learns to stop fighting itself and reach true discernment. At first the young man uses his sword as a weapon, before understanding that he will have to use it differently: the Sword of the DAL is not made for aggression or destruction, but for a freed consciousness, able to cut through illusions without ever wounding. Enter this family of right thinking to discover the power of a mind that frees itself and lights the way.

The story

Guided by the bird of memory through the storms of thought: learning to measure the strength of truth without cutting oneself on one's own blade.

The court

The Page learns vigilance, the Knight charges into the storm, the Queen, without wounding, speaks the truth by cutting through illusions, and the King embodies the truth: the metamorphosis of right thinking.

Pentacles

Earth & Incarnation

The Pentacles suit roots you in the density of Earth, where wisdom does not come down from the sky but dwells at the very heart of matter. The story follows the path of a woman builder, from her childhood in a womb-like cave to the forecourt of the completed cathedral, where the whole community gathers to celebrate a life fulfilled, for the good of all. From the medieval market to the patient orchards, this suit shows how to reconcile our daily needs with the protection of what we hold most dear. In the DAL, the Pentacles are the Book of stone, a primordial memory reminding us that every careful labour and every grounding gesture shapes a lasting security. Walk through this family of incarnation: its fulfilment is not an end, but the beginning of a path pursued for the good of all among the Honours.

The story

The Pentacles do not measure what one owns: they show how Earth turns work into memory and effort into shared security.

The court

The Page observes matter, the Knight sets resources in motion, the Queen preserves what lives, and the King embodies the Book of stone: the metamorphosis of rootedness.
